Log to VRealize Operation – tenant app for vCloud directory. If first time you are logging in. the first window, select vCloud Director and click FINISH.
In the left pane under Administration select Solutions in the main pane select vRealize Operations tab and enter the admin credentials and click Save.
Go to Metering > Configuration, select Pricing policies tab and click ADD NEW POLICY.
Enter the name and select the pricing policy type. I will make it Pay As You Go. Click Next.
Start Configure the CPU Rate and click Next.
You will use the same in memory rate. Click Next.
Also, in storage rate or you can use allocation not reservation. Click Next.
Configure the Network Rate and click Next.
In the Advanced configuration you can charge for more options if needed like load balancer, firewall, NAT and others. or Leave it blank. Click Next.
After configuring the Guest OS Rate, Click Add first and click Next
Also we can define the VM using the Tags and click Next.
Configure the rate of the vcd and click Next.
Review and click Finish.
ASSIGN PRICING POLICIES TO THE ORGANIZATION VDC AND GENERATE A NEW BILL
From VRealize Operation – tenant app for vCloud directory go to Metering > Configuration, select Organization VDCs tab and select the VDC required to add the billing policy to it and click Assign.
Click the policy needed and click assign. (The policy name association with the selected organization VDC takes 2 to 3 minutes to be reflected.)
After 2 Minutes.
Create New Bill
From VRealize Operation – tenant app for vCloud directory go to Metering > Bills and click AGenerate New Bill.
Select the VDC of the organization and click Next.
Select the Policy and click Next.
Define the start and end dates and give it a title and click Finish.
Generate Report from report templates
From VRealize Operation – tenant app for vCloud directory go to Metering > Reports, select Report Templates tab and select [vCloud Director]-Deleted Reports and click Run.
Expand vCloud > vCloud World > vCloud World > SiteA-VCD > Prod-PVDC
Click Generate.
Browse to Generated Reports tab.
and select the generated report and click Export To PDF.
Repeat again for [vCloud Directory] – VM Price report, select and click RUN
Expand vCloud > vCloud World > vCloud World > SiteA-VCD
and select the generated report and click Export To PDF.
Note : You might not see the price calculation immediately in the PDF application, because it takes at least 1 hour before the calculations occur, based on the pricing policy that you defined.
